Project outline

Some projects face difficulty identifying the ownership of unregistered land. However, ESL can facilitate acquisition despite these obstacles.

An enquiry with these challenges was made and as per our directive, ESL carried out Land Registry searches to locate the correct landowner contacts. This was secured through phone calls with the neighbouring properties.

How we did it

Our third-party specialist approached the third-party landowner with our proposal for resolution and agreed an entry route to allow access for our client. Conditions were negotiated, ensuring access would remain available during necessary works and ESL agreed like for like re-instatement for both sides. This avoided the need for damage compensation.

Once confirmed with our client, ESL proceeded with signature of the DNO Wayleave and agreed terms of access with both parties

Key outcomes

From inception to signature the access agreement was concluded within only 10 working days. This dramatically reduced the possible delays our client may have faced when trying to identify the third-party landowner without our resources and expertise.
